André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

The André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal was also the last outing for Kalisto, who lasted longer than fellow releasee Tucker. He began the match as the punching bag to prominent mid-carders such as Murphy, Elias, and Jey Uso – a role that felt correct considering the luchador’s standing on the roster. As part of a gang, he kind of helped eliminate Shelton Benjamin, and limply tried to eliminate Shinsuke Nakamura in an uneventful scuffle.

Thankfully, Kalisto had a notable spot and a storyline in the match. As the herd thinned, the former Lucha House Party trio reunited after being split by the 2020 Draft. The alliance never paid off with Lince Dorado quickly eliminating Kalisto, Gran Metalik eliminating Dorado, and Baron Corbin sending Metalik over the top rope. Given the constraints of a Battle Royal, it was a solid piece of storytelling amongst the melee.

In the wake of his release, it was revealed that Kalisto asked to be removed from Lucha House Party citing the team’s reputation as "prelim jokes" as his reason. The team continued as a twosome, likely sealing Kalisto’s fate.
