John Cena's WWE Return: 10 Things We Can Expect

3. New Merch! BUY IT!

John Cena's Money In The Bank return was a glorious assault on the senses, but the noise reverberating around people's ears was quickly replaced by a sea of green to signify the latest line of merchandise from 'The Champ'.

WWE were masters of this back when 'Big Match John' was a regular, so it's unsurprising they had the line-up all ready to within minutes of his shocking return. Alongside the t-shirt, hat and armbands he'll live in for the next month or so, the company were flogging various other Cena wares as well as some retro stuff in the same colours that'll probably fool your elderly relatives if you've got a birthday coming up.

Why does this matter? Well, it doesn't relate to the on-screen product, but it is a stark reminder of how WWE's star-making machine functioned in the post-Austin/Rock era, and hasn't truly functioned ever since Cena took himself out of the picture.
