Kurt Angle Reveals Who Tried To Get Him To Join AEW

Someone texted Kurt Angle about signing with AEW, but the WWE icon was having none of it.

Shaquille O'Neal tried to convince Kurt Angle that joining him in AEW was a great idea.

Angle told the 'Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling' podcast that Shaq texted to suggest that they pair up in All Elite soon. In fact, the ex-NBA star said, "You need to come to AEW!". Kurt admitted that he was flattered, and thinks the company has a ton of talent, but added that he's in no position to wrestle these days.

The Olympian also thinks he'd choose a WWE comeback over wrestling anywhere else if he was able.

Kurt has never really considered AEW a viable option. He retired from active in-ring wrestling after a disappointing WrestleMania 35 match with 'King' Corbin, and hasn't so much as thought about pulling on his boots again.

Shaq was hoping he could coax his old pal out of retirement for a run in Tony Khan's promotion. Angle told the pod that he was never going to do it - he wasn't even tempted despite O'Neal's best efforts. That'll come as a slight disappointment to some.
