7. WrestleMania 40 (Roman & The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins)

The Rock’s first match in 8 years and the culmination of the 'Final Boss' storyline he had going on saved WrestleMania 40’s horrific missteps in many ways and delivered a suitably epic tag-team main event for the opening night's festivities.

Unfortunately, a 45-minute, no-disqualification brawl in freezing, drizzling weather was not what the doctor ordered and sapped the energy from the live crowd in attendance for the show. Roman Reigns and The Rock triumphed over Cody Rhodes and an injured Seth Rollins (who gritted his teeth to get through things) to set up the night 2 main event as a tasty-looking 'Bloodline Rules' match.

The tag match, which at times resembled more of a tornado tag, was long, drawn-out and at times plodding. Roman himself was second banana to Rock’s aforementioned 'Final Boss' character, which was a strange position for the 'Tribal Chief' to be in, but a deserved one considering the stellar work of 'The Great One' that spring.

As it stands, this is a Reigns 'Mania match that was more a curiosity for Rock’s return to the ring than it was an epic showdown all round.
