Three WWE Wrestlers Considered Asking For Release During Pay Cut Controversy (WWE News)
Triple H could have a job on his hands maintaining morale in WWE's locker room.
WrestleMania 42 is only just in the rearview mirror and morale is already sinking in WWE's locker rooms. Everyone should be all high fives and pats on the back after the biggest PLE weekender of 2026, but it isn't giddiness that has gripped the roster - it's fear.
Self Made Pro is reporting that various men and women on WWE's books feel a sense of despair after witnessing many of their peers be handed 2 day ultimatums to save their jobs amidst pay cut reports before being released from their contracts or walking.
Internally, the general vibe is that 'it could happen to anyone', especially in the wake of New Day stalwarts Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods departing the company.
Depressingly, when Self Made discussed this with several wrestlers, their view on the situation was pretty much: "They're just going to get me next". The YouTube channel also added: "It’s with no exaggeration when I say that the morale right now is really low".
Incredibly, a few workers asked about everything that's been going on implied that they might ask for their own releases instead of waiting for the chopping block. That's how bad the feeling is behind the curtain for some - they're sitting around waiting to "get smoked at some point" anyway, and there's a belief that it doesn't even matter how good someone is in-ring, on the microphone or even how over they get with the fanbase.
That's grim.
Self Made also said: "I was talking to people who were just like there’s an increasing feeling amongst people there that they’re just not cared about, nor do they matter on a big scale from the people up top".
This is something Triple H (and others) will have to work hard to keep a lid on. They'll want to squash this ill-feeling ASAP.
