WWE Crown Jewel 2025: 8 Nightmares That Could Come True

1. There’s No (Logical) PLE Making Shock

...it has to be logical.

Brock Lesnar’s controversial return at SummerSlam had everybody talking. Then, Wrestlepalooza didn’t have much to shout about beyond Lesnar giving John Cena a kicking and some tidy matches, but Crown Jewel is a bigger deal than that definite 'B' show by default (due to being international) and needs something monumental.

Randy Orton turning on Cody Rhodes or Gunther returning to stare down Cena. Something like that would work. The past couple of WWE PLEs have received a fair bit of apathy, so it’s in Triple H’s interest to fan some flames and get folks buzzing about the product again. Some matches taking top billing in 2025 have played before lacklustre build, then have been quickly forgotten about as soon as they're finished.

It's high time to change that, because it won't be too long until 'Mania season is here again.

Orton going after the WWE Title and showing some old 'Legend Killer'/Legacy leader evil sounds like a party this fan wants to be invited to. He can always slip back into the stalwart babyface role on the back end after feuding with Rhodes. Similarly, if reports are true and Gunther is going to be Cena's next rival, then he should at least be shown watching Cena vs. AJ Styles from a skybox before reacting to JC's win.

There has to be more to Crown Jewel than just a print out of results like, 'John Cena beats AJ Styles in their final match ever' or, 'Cody Rhodes is Crown Jewel Champ for the second year running'. Give us some drama, Hunter. This PLE deserves that, and so do fans watching worldwide.
