The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was a comic book series co-created by Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill. British Intelligence officer Campion Bond recruited Dracula survivor Mina Murray to enlist a group of extraordinary people to protect the interests of the British Empire. This group included famous hunter and explorer Alan Quatermain, infamous seafarer Captain Nemo, Dr. Henry Jekyll and his vicious alter ego Mr. Edward Hyde, and thief Hawley Griffin, the Invisible Man.

The team's first act together was to stop a gang war between legendary Chinese warlord Fu Manchu and Professor James Moriarty, the perennial antagonist for the detective Sherlock Holmes. Over the course of their adventures, both Quatermain and Murray achieved immortality, however, Alan was killed by the Antichrist in 2009.

In “The Tempest,” Mina and Orlando take Emma Night (nee Peel) to the fire of youth where she becomes young and immortal. Since Night had stolen several things when she abandoned MI5, they were now fugitives and sought asylum with Jack Nemo, Captain Nemo’s great-grandson. After the actions of the League were revealed as a plot to unleash magical creatures on the world and that claim became true, Mina and the League escaped to space on the Nautilus for parts unknown... and a century later, Mina shared a dance with a cloned Edward Hyde.
