10 Terrible Comic Book Moments That Could Have Been Saved With One Simple Twist

1. Spider-Man's Radioactive Semen

While Spider-Man: Reign is a seriously enjoyable comic if you're in the mood for a grittier imagining of the Spider-Man franchise, it also contains one of the silliest moments in comic history: Peter Parker's radioactive spider semen killing Mary Jane.

It's a shame, because we learn the information that "every fluid" the pair exchange took MJ closer and closer to death at what should have been the saddest part of the book, but instead it's made accidentally hilarious, as it's very hard to take deadly jizz all that seriously.

The funniest part is, all they would have had to do is say it was just Peter's saliva that was toxic for this to not be distractingly funny. Mary Jane and Peter - as an older married couple - would have definitely kissed enough that this still could have proved fatal to MJ, and the fact her death isn't a result of boning Spider-Man makes it a little less wacky, and a lot more suitably sad.

I like my comics like I like my coffee - in huge, unquestionably unhealthy doses.
