10 Times Captain America Outsmarted Everyone

Steve Rogers has an exceedingly bad history with being mindwiped - one that's only soothed by the fact that he always finds out what memories have gone missing, and he always busts the ass of whoever is responsible.

This formula extends even to his own teammates, it turns out, as when Cap discovers that he has been brainwashed to forget that The Illuminati has been rebuilt - a seriously sketchy secret superhero team, and a nightmare for anyone with a lisp - he immediately begins scheming of how to take the group down, all the while acting like he can remember nothing.

With this in mind, Steve forms the Mighty Avengers, and violently confronts Iron Man about his secret cult-like club. While nobody wins this fight - as the appearance of the time crystal instead leads to timeline shenanigans - there's a pretty good chance that Captain America actually would have won, had the battle continued to the end.
