12 Superpowers You Didn’t Know Spider-Man Had
1. Enhanced Sight
Miguel O'Hara is a seriously underrated Spider-Man. Introduced during the hugely popular Marvel 2099 series in 1992, Miguel becomes obsessed with Spider-Man and seeks to create a similar person with his genetics research. Unfortunately, his experiment ended in failure, but that wouldn't be the end of his spider adventures.
After leaving Alchemax, he was blackmailed by a former colleague after being injected a drug called Rapture. To purge the substance from his system, he broke into Alchemax where he had left a DNA sample of himself on file. Unfortunately, the sample was tampered with and replaced with 50% spider DNA, giving him powers.
Instead of the traditional Spider-Sense, Miguel has enhanced hearing and vision. With this, he is able to see things from a great distance, even being able to "zoom in" on the subject of interest. Miguel's vision is so finely tuned, he was able to see energy waves emitted from Alchemax during 1995's Spider-Man 2099 Meets Spider-Man.
The
downside to Miguel's accelerated vision is that his eyes are extremely
sensitive to light. He can't go outside without sunglasses or a visor,
but due to the sensitivity, he is able to see in the dark with ease. Which is handy when you're mostly fighting crime at night.
