8 Great Perks They Should Keep For NYCC 2018

5. An Altered Artist Alley

Part of the joy of New York Comic Con is the plethora of emerging artists who stop by Javits and showcase their works. However, before 2017, they weren't in the main center. ReedPop and their associates decided that would no longer be the case and moved their talent in clear sight.

The home of the original Artist Alley, an annex near the Javits Center, was demolished in favor of a new profitable location. Alongside Dark Horse and Midtown Comics, the independent artisans were under a brighter spotlight. They were seated next to veterans on the bustling first floor. Fans gravitated to their excellent displays and the recent arrangement produced remarkable sales. Artist Alley was almost impossible to get through, for a good reason, and it's a problem Comic Con organizers shouldn't mind having in 2018.

Established comic writers and illustrators receive plenty of admiration in NYCC's programs, advertisements, and social media posts. The inventors of Artist Alley go through a competitive application process and hope for the best upon their arrival. By bringing them into Javits, NYCC shows greater confidence in their artists. The annoyances of crowd control can be addressed but the fresher talent benefit a lot from being elbow to elbow with their inspirations.

The improved accessibility to novice talents is a bold stroke that gives them quality exposure outside the panels.
