According to Dini, the first issue will also put a unique spin on the story it's telling as there's going to be an unknown figure in the shadows watching all of the events go down. While we don't know much about the specifics of the character (or what is driving their actions) an unknown factor like this could really heighten the element of mystery - something we always love from a good Batman story.
Dini didn't confirm whether this will be a narrative thread exclusive to the first issue or if it will play out over the course of the six-part series, but the idea of a mysterious entity with a vendetta against the Bat-Family that manages to outwit even Batman by making their presence felt and still disappearing without a trace certainly sounds like the kind of long-running narrative to keep readers guessing.
The question is: Is this an already-established character, or a completely new player?
