1. Vigo The Carpathian (Ghostbusters 2)
Villain from the previous movie: Gozer (Ghostbusters). L.A.M.E - That's the only word for Vigo (punctuated by capitals and full stops, nonetheless) - especially in comparison to the major villain that came before him. Gozer was a dimension-hopping god with energy blasts and teleportation abilities who commanded a pair of hell-hounds and had the ability to warp in to existence a 'destroyer' in the form of whatever those who stood before her imagined (in her case, a giant marshmallow man). Vigo was a man who lived in a painting. Okay, so I'm simplifying, but let's not beat around the bush here; Vigo was a pussycat compared to Gozer. After having dispatched of a god in hugely dramatic circumstances atop a skyscraper, whilst simultaneously dealing with a giant monster, having just witnessed a flurry of city-wide supernatural occurrences in New York, seeing the Ghostbusters going up against a man whose presence existed in a piece of creepy looking artwork was less than fulfilling. Gozer wanted to destroy the world. Vigo wanted to live on in the body of a baby. Their ambitions were in different leagues. Vigo was nowhere near as much of a threat as Gozer. Ghostbusters II, simply put, needed to go a lot bigger.
