10 Upcoming Movies That Are Trying To Win Back Fans

How It Lost Fans
It's hard to recall what everyone thought of Cats before its first trailer dropped, because the footage itself looked so bizarre that the movie instantly became an overnight sensation - but not in a good way.
In fact, it became one of the most ridiculed movies of the last few years, purely because of the freaky human/feline hybrids on display throughout the trailer. It was mocked, parodied, and became one of the internet's biggest laughing stocks of 2019. So yeah, not many people have high hopes for this one.
How It's Trying To Win Them Back
Until quite recently, Cats was in the same position as Paramount's Sonic the Hedgehog. Both movies put out a first trailer that was torn to shreds because of the special effects on show, and both were facing an uphill battle as a result.
However, in a brave move, Paramount chose to delay Sonic so they could completely overhaul the look of the title character, releasing a second trailer that was received much more positively. But Universal didn't do this with Cats, so presumably, the unsettling look of the characters will stay the same in the finished film.
And this puts it in a tricky position. Most people will struggle to look past the weird CGI even if the movie is great, so Universal will have to cut together one hell of a second trailer - and sharpen up the special effects substantially - to give it a fighting chance.
