12 Upcoming Sequels That Absolutely Nobody Wants

4. Die Hard: Year One

Die Hard: Year One has been pitched as both a sequel and a prequel to Die Hard, with present day John McClane investigating a case that has links to one from his days as a rookie cop. Die Hard 4.0 director Len Wiseman is returning and claims the story will show how McClane first became €œa Die Hard kind of guy.€ The issue with that is that there is already a movie where he became €œa Die Hard kind of guy.€ It was called Die Hard. The point of the original is that he has never faced anything dramatic or dangerous before; he was just a regular cop in way over his head. Having him face something similar when he was a rookie completely undermines that. From Bruce Wills€™ point of view the appeal is simple: he€™ll do half the work for the same amount of pay. He looked bored out of his skull in A Good Day To Die Hard and he appears to feel that way about action movies in general. Audiences also hated the last movie despite it doing just about well enough for the studio to gamble on yet another instalment. It will be interesting to see if they try to get Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the young Bruce Willis again. He does a better impression of Bruce Willis than Bruce Willis does nowadays.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
