Star Wars: 10 Ideas For A New Disney+ Series

2. A Jedi Academy Series

The Jedi might be one of the most under-explored yet overstated features within the Star Wars mythos. Boiled down to essentially Space Samurai, the Jedi have gone through the ringer in all manner of films, books, video games and now TV series. Deified, mystified and in later iterations, debunked, these mystical laser-sword wielding monks were the coolest parts of the whole franchise.

And while it might be more wise to leave a lot of their collected canon to mystery, there is potential within their lore for an intriguing coming-of-age series that follows a select cast of aspiring Jedi as they enter (or are already well within) their training to become Jedi warriors.

The series would see these plucky apprentice' along with their assigned mentors, and follow them through the galaxy as they undergo trials, tribulations and take part in sprawling multi-planetary adventures.

Audience' investment with the characters would come from seeded ideas that one or several of the apprentice' could stray toward the Dark Side, the ideology of the Jedi could already be challenged by a youngling, and thus the nuances of the Jedi order could really be dissected and fleshed out.

Disney+ subscribers could get the best of all worlds with well-choreographed lightsabre battles, three-dimensional character development, and engaging sub-plots that (hopefully!) don't correlate with the Skywalker Saga.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
