10 Horror Victims That Did Everything Right But Died Anyway

6. Miss Collins - Carrie

Carrie Miss Collins
United Artists

In this Stephen King adaptation, highschooler, Carrie White, is endlessly bullied and berated by classmates and her deranged mother. Just when it feels like life couldn't get more confusing, Carrie develops telekinetic powers.

Throughout this period, Carrie's gym teacher, Miss Collins, is the only person looking after her well-being. She calms Carrie down in the iconic shower sequence when she believes she's dying. She goes out of her way to ensure Carrie's bullies serve detention or are suspended.

On top of that, Miss Collins protects Carrie psychologically. While Carrie plays sports, Miss Collins encourages the others to pass the ball to her so she feels included. When she notices Carrie is depressed, Miss Collins emphasises her beauty, hoping to boost her confidence.

So, when Carrie snaps after the bullies drop pig blood on her at the prom, you'd think Miss Collins will be the one person spared from her wrath

But Carrie's humiliation is so overwhelming, she hallucinates that everybody in the room is laughing at her, including Miss Collins. Consumed by rage, Carrie unleashes her telekinetic powers on tnhe whole school, sparing nobody.

What makes Miss Collin's death more hard-hitting is the fact she was the only person trying to prevent the prank from happening. Furthermore, she could've escaped the facility if she wasn't busy trying to save the teachers and students.
