10 Active Boxers Who Could End Their Career Unbeaten
1. Andre Ward
Andre Ward was officially ranked as the number four pound-for-pound fighter by Ring Magazine in March 2016 but unofficially, he is seen as the world's best.
His speed, timing and movement around the ring mean that he stands out from the rest and the fact that only half of his victories have come by stoppage goes some way to showing that is almost untouchable over the longer distance.
The American has competed at super-middleweight for much of his career but a move to light-heavyweight has opened up the possibility of a mega fight with Sergey Kovalev late in 2016.
A deal is said to be agreed for two of the sport's biggest names to collide and the ruthless punch power of the Russian will put Ward's unbeaten record under threat, but it is going to be easier said than done for Kovalev to apply enough pressure on Ward when he is being kept at range.
Aside from maybe Adonis Stevenson, Kovalev is the only man who has a realistic chance of inflicting his first defeat and if Ward lives up to his tag as favourite, expect the California resident to end his career as the best in the sport.
