The United States have a number fighters at 147lbs that could at least try to take over from Floyd Mayweather but the best of the lot could currently be operating in the weight division below.

Terence Crawford is technically superb but he brings a certain aggression that you don't normally associate with competitors who like to rely on their skills. The Omaha native has been involved in some one-sided fights as of late but as he showed against Yuriorkis Gamboa in June 2014, he is not afraid to mix it up given he has the power to win most exchanges.

As of April 2016, it is decision time for the 28-year-old who is known to be considering when to leave the super-lightweight category in order to compete at welterweight, which had been seen as the most lucrative division when Mayweather was active and Manny Pacquiao was at his peak.

Crawford may make more defences of his WBO belt but his long-term future appears to be at 147lbs and as of right now, who at that level is going to stop him?
