9. Danny Garcia

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGDzp_6Xbnk Alias: Swift Division: Light Welterweight Age: 25 Country: USA Record: 27-0 (16 KOs) Titles: Current WBA (Super) & WBA Light Welterweight World Champion Philadelphian Garcia, of Puerto Rican descent, rose to prominence in March 2012 when he outpointed Mexican legend Erik Morales to capture the WBC light welterweight championship. Morales was dropped in the 11th round before Garcia gained a unanimous decision from the judges at ringside. Garcia then headed into a July clash as an underdog against then-WBA champion Amir Khan of Great Britain. Khan dominated the first two rounds with his fast hand speed, with Garcia sustaining a cut above his right eye. But in the third stanza, Garcia was able to land his trademark left hook, sending Khan down to the canvas. Khan was able to recover, but after being dropped twice again in the fourth round, Garcia became a unified world champion by way of technical knockout. October saw a rematch with Erik Morales, but this time Garcia was able to knockout the Mexican inside four rounds. This led to an April 2013 showdown with former five time world champion Zab Judah. Garcia seemed fully in control for the first two thirds of the fight, knocking Judah down in the eighth round. But Judah fought back before a clash of heads late into the contest, causing big cuts for both competitors, as the fight reached an exciting finale. Garcia's grit and determination got him to the final bell, however, and he gained a unanimous decision. Big hitting Argentine Lucas Matthyssé was Garcia's most recent opponent in September 2013, and Garcia again headed into the fight as an underdog. But Garcia displayed not only great defence and movement, but an iron chin as he dealt very well with Matthyssé's crushing shots. It was a career best performance for Garcia that solidified his place as one of boxing's elite. Mauricio Herrera is next for Garcia, as 'Swift' puts his WBA and WBA straps on the line in Puerto Rico on March 15. On paper, it should be a routine defence for Garcia and could subsequently make the move up to 147lbs for some huge fights in the welterweight division.
