It says a lot about the cult of Allen Iverson that, despite the 2001 NBA Finals being an incredibly one-sided series, it is most remembered for his incredible performance during Game 1. Entering the first encounter as heavy underdogs, the 76ers secured an unbelievable upset victory thanks to an untouchable Iverson display - scoring 30 first half points en route to a 48 point game. The image of him nailing a long jump shot - before stepping over the prone Tyronn Lue to assert his dominance - is one now etched into modern NBA folklore. Unfortunately for AI and the city of Philadelphia, this upset seemed only to anger Kobe, Shaq and co., spurring them on to four quick victories which their opponents never came too close to stopping. Iverson continued to light up the scoreboard, but none of his teammates followed suit to a satisfactory degree, leading to a second successive title for the Los Angeles Lakers.
