10 Best Players Of World Cup 2018's Group Stage

8. Kieran Trippier

Few football fans would have put money on Kieran Trippier being one of the most creative players at the World Cup, but by the end of the first round of group games, the Tottenham full-back had made more chances for his teammates than any other player at the tournament.

He had a huge role in England's victory over Tunisia, succeeding almost everything he attempted and sending in that vital corner for Harry Kane to net the winner. Against Panama, he was once more instrumental in helping England get off to a great start as he sent in another perfect corner for John Stones to open the scoring.

Bombing up and down the wing, Trippier has been one of England's best attacking outlets while also doing smart defensive work, winning his duels and intercepting loose balls to help his team recover possession. Trippier was rested for the final group game and his absence was clear to see as the Three Lions failed to create too many chances. If England want to go all the way this year, Trippier's contributions will be key.
