10 Best Players Of World Cup 2018's Group Stage

7. Philippe Coutinho

A lot of the pre-tournament hype for Brazil was centred around star man Neymar and up-and-comer Gabriel Jesus, but Barcelona's Philippe Coutinho has been the South American side's star man so far. He's scored twice, assisted one more, and played a huge role in helping Brazil top their group with two wins and a draw.

Coutinho's first goal was a real wonder strike from outside the box, and his second goal opened the scoring in the dying minutes of a dull clash with Costa Rica. The attacking midfielder has brought games to life all on his own and provided a real spark in a sometimes dull Brazilian attack.

Without Coutinho on the pitch, Brazil might not have finished top of their group and could have struggled to qualify at all. His creativity, work rate, and eagerness to get forward and make goals for his team have all been key aspects in Brazil's successful campaign so far.
