Ousmane Dembele may have lasted just a single year at Borussia Dortmund, but his talents were there for all to see as he grabbed eyeballs with his speed, technical ability, versatility, and also an eye for goal.

Signed from French outfit Rennes in 2016, Dembele played 49 times over the next 12 months, scoring 10 goals and assisting 21 times. He lifted the DFB-Pokal Cup at the end of the campaign and even won the 'man of the match' award for his heroics in the finals.

The Frenchman was already a fan favourite at the Signal Iduna Park but as soon as Barcelona expressed interest, he controversially forced his way out of the club by skipping team training and handing in a transfer request.

As livid as the fans were upon his conduct, Der BVB nevertheless made a fortune from his sale with a reported €40 million from add-ons. Whereas for Dembele, his time with the Catalan outfit has been blighted by recurring injuries so far.
