6. Papiss Cisse - Newcastle United
Newcastle United have struggled to ever get anyone to even come close to the legendary Alan Shearer since he retired.
However, when the club signed Papiss Cisse in 2012, the Senegal striker threatened to be the man to finally pick up the mantle from the Magpies' brilliant number nine.
For a while, too, Cisse delivered. He was inconsistent at times but had the spectacular in the bag when he was in the mood. His goal at Chelsea in May of 2012 was simply stunning and rightly garnered plenty of attention.
Cisse struggled with a few injuries after a successful first season at St James' Park and arguably never achieved quite what he could have for the club. But in terms of immediate impact and getting the Toon Army off their seats, Cisse was as good as they have had for a long time now.
