It was after this final crash, to the jeers of the crowd, did the organisers finally decide to rotate the jump by 180 degrees to make the gradient shallower and install a hay chicane a bit further up the hill to reduce the speed. It does mean however, that some of the later teams would have a much lower chance of getting a top time because they would have to go slower to negotiate the chicane - which some didn't.
