10 Big Talking Points On Luis Suarez's Future

6. Or Can He Become The Top Scorer In La Liga?

Clint Hughes/AP/Press Association ImagesClint Hughes/AP/Press Association ImagesTaking the opposing viewpoint and assuming Suarez takes his rich vein of form with him from the Premier League to La Liga, could he do the unthinkable and becoming the top scorer in the début season? Suarez was the top scorer in the Premier League last season, netting 31 goals for Liverpool, ten more than the next man, team mate Daniel Sturridge. This proves he has more than enough ability in front of goal to cause any team problems. But does he have what it takes to take the golden boot in La Liga? With Diego Costa moving to Chelsea that is one of the division's most prolific strikers who Suarez wouldn't need to worry about. However, if he was to become top scorer he would have to outperform his own team mate Lionel Messi and Real Madrid's star man, Cristiano Ronaldo. Between them, the two La Liga stars scored 59 league goals (31 Ronaldo, 28 Messi) last season and they will be looking to emulate those figures during the coming season. Barca's star man managed to bag 28 goals in what, by his high standards, was a relatively poor league season. If Suarez was to do the unthinkable and topple these giants of the game then he would have to get off and running almost immediately to secure his place in the first team, allowing him to do what he does best and score goals.
