10 Biggest Losers From Premier League Opening Weekend

2. Kyle Walker

Manchester United against Tottenham Hotspur looked to be a tasty encounter to open up the Premier League season. Both teams were full of renewed vigour and hope, more so on the Manchester side. Louis Van Gaal had spent big in the Summer, as he continues his quest to make Man Utd winners again. By contrast, Spurs fans thought Mauricio Pochettino would have more to offer after a season bedding into the job. The result was oddly one of the most pedestrian games fans are likely to see all season. United didn't really look full of attacking promise, and it was actually their London opponents who showed more in the opening quarter. Had Christian Eriksen converted a deft lob in the first half, things could have been different. Kyle Walker was the only goal scorer. Sadly for the Spurs defender, he found his own net on 22 minutes. Looking to stifle Wayne Rooney's attempt to shoot, Walker accidentally bundled the ball into his own team's goal. It was a disastrous moment, and one of the only highlights of an otherwise awful match. Spurs didn't recover after going a goal behind.
