10 Biggest Losers From Premier League Opening Weekend

7. Roberto Martinez

At least Mark Hughes can point to an excellent season last year, Roberto Martinez can't do the same. Regarded as one of the hottest young managers in the English game when he put pen-to-paper on a contract at Goodison Park, Martinez has thus far been disappointing. That downward trend continued as Everton could only draw 2-2 at home to new boys Watford. Both sides looked well matched, peppering the opposition goal with over 20 shots between them. The onus was definitely on Everton, this was Watford's first game in the top flight since 2007, but The Toffees didn't exactly look much better than the Championship runners-up. That's worrying for Martinez, because he really needs a good campaign. With just minutes to go, Arouna Kone equalised to make the game 2-2, but there was no sign that Everton were going to get more than a draw from the opening game. At home to a league newcomer, there should have been more presence from the team, but all too often they are found wanting. Is this going to be another dismal season for the passionate Everton support?
