10 Boxing Matches That Will Make You An Instant Fan
2. Tyson Fury Vs Vladimir Klitschko (28/11/15)
Before he became a world champion once again by knocking off Deontay Wilder in 2020 - after overcoming mental health issues and addiction - Tyson Fury's greatest ever boxing achievement came in the form of his conquering of the dominant Wladimir Klitschko five years earlier. Which was probably one of the most unlikely underdog achievements in modern sporting history...and that's why it will make you an instant boxing fan!
Coming into this bout without a loss since 2004, Klitschko had seen off the likes of David Haye, Alexander Povetkin and Kubrat Pulev. It didn't look like anyone was capable of taking away his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, The Ring, and lineal heavyweight titles.
Clearly Fury wasn't just anyone and his pre-fight press conference antics - such as dressing up like Batman and attacking The Joker - appeared to get inside of the usually impenetrable Klitschko's head.
Come fight night, the Manchester born big man wasn't in the mood for games, however, and completely out-boxed the iconic champion for twelve rounds.
For very different reasons than that of our previous entry, no one could quite believe what they'd just witnessed.
A fighter who seemed to be more interested in having a laugh than legitimately becoming the champion had just taken down one of the Heavyweight division's standard bearers for over a decade and was your new champ.
You love to see it.
