10 Deflating Things That Always Seem To Happen To Spurs

1. Poor Derby Results

One of the worst feelings in football is to come away from a match against a local rival with a poor result - and Spurs tend to really struggle in such matches. Arsenal, West Ham United and Chelsea are arguably the three teams with whom Spurs have the biggest rivalries. Matches against bitter North London rivals Arsenal tend to bear little fruit, while Chelsea are a tough side for anyone to get results against and Spurs are no different, but West Ham are a team Spurs should be beating more often than not and last season's matches against the Upton Park side epitomised Spurs' troubled derby form. The Hammers played Spurs three times - twice in the Premier League and once in the League Cup - and won all three games. Don't think Spurs never win derby matches - they certainly do sometimes - but they tend to have a poorer record than most in such games (not least because most of their closest rivals are top, top sides).
