Highly rated by Swiss fans and former professionals, Breel Embolo has yet to really live up to the hype on the big stage, but he's still only 21 and this summer's World Cup could be the ideal opportunity for him to finally show off what he can do.

An impressive physical specimen, Cameroon-born Embolo did brilliantly during his time with Swiss club Basel, scoring 21 league goals in 61 games. He earned a call-up to the Swiss side for Euro 2016 and featured several times throughout the tournament, showing glimpses of greatness but struggling to find the back of the net. That same summer, Embolo made a €20 million move to Schalke 04, where his career has since stagnated a little.

Injuries kept him out for much of the 2016-17 season, but he appeared 21 times in the Bundesliga this season and scored 3 goals. Still a little rough around the edges, Embolo does have a lot of talent and could see this summer's tournament as a way to rekindle the spark of his Basel years.
