10 Early Favourites For World Cup 2018 Best Young Player Award
3. Ousmane Dembélé
21-year-old Ousmane Dembélé hasn't had the best of seasons at club level, with his €105 million move to Barcelona starting off on the worst of notes as he picked up a hamstring injury in his first league appearance, resulting in several months on the sidelines.
He was only 18 when he made his league debut for French club Rennes and went on to have a fantastic season, scoring 12 league goals, including a fantastic hat-trick in the derby against Nantes. For France, he's scored twice so far in 11 appearances and could form a lethal partnership with fellow young Frenchman Kylian Mbappé.
Blessed with quick feet and fantastic technical skills, Dembélé was accused in the past of being a little too selfish but has learned a lot over the last year or so and adapted his game to become more of a team player, boosting his numbers of assists and chances created per game. He's heading into this World Cup fully fit and raring to go, having scored a great goal in France's recent friendly victory against old rivals Italy.
