10 Exciting Prospects For The England National Team

6. Luke Shaw

Luke Shaw recently signed with Manchester United and will now be competing for league titles and European honors in the years to come. He has the potential, the pedigree and now the club to help him go far. Shaw made 35 appearances in the Premier League last season and was voted into the PFA team of the season. He received resounding praise from his peers in the game, after becoming one of The Saints' most consistent players. The 18 year old is big, physical and lightning quick, and has improved consistently as a defender. It's easy to forget that he is still a teenager. Most people his age were getting A-Level results over the summer, not training with England in Rio. He certainly has the size and speed to defend well in the modern game. His most obvious strength is his knack of getting into the opposition half and causing havoc with his pace, power and excellent delivery. As he grows in stature at Manchester United, Luke Shaw has the potential to be the first choice left back for England for the next 12-15 years.
