Milan fans were spared a painful summer-long transfer saga this week when precocious goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma penned a new, long-term deal with the club, having previously been the target of, err, abuse from fans whilst playing for Italy in the U21 European Championships (they threw dollar bills at him, which is probably among the nicer acts of hooliganism).

In football, though, a new contract will only keep the vultures at bay for a couple of years, and with Real Madrid sniffing round the 18-year-old, many pundits expect him to move to Spain unless his current employers - who recently came into some money - find their way back to the top of European football. If that happens, expect triple figures as a minimum.
