10 Footballers Who Got Kicked Out Of The Dressing Room
5. Darron Gibson
At one time it seemed like Darron Gibson would become the spiritual successor to Roy Keane as the tough-tackling Irishman at the heart of Manchester United's midfield. However, Gibson struggled to find a consistent place for himself in the team's star-studded lineup, and despite scoring in the semi-finals of the 2011 Champions League win over Schalke, he would be omitted from the team in the final and would join Everton that summer.
Again failing to make an impact after being hampered by injuries, Gibson would move to Sunderland, resulting in the stint that would earn him his place on this list.
After the team suffered relegation, Gibson was filmed, apparently drunk, in a pub publicly criticising his teammates by name which was posted to social media and no doubt did little to improve team morale for the struggling Black Cats. Things would get worse the following year, as Gibson was arrested for drunk driving and subsequently left the club by mutual consent.
