10 Former Players Birmingham City Could Do With Now

5. Nathan Redmond

€œIt has been a very emotional 11 years for me at Birmingham City FC and I have loved every single minute of it. I really really am going to miss it from the bottom of my heart. My nan who passed away last year always used to tell me €˜never forget where you have come from.€™ Well, I came from Birmingham City FC! ONCE A BLUE ALWAYS A BLUE€ this club will remain etched on my heart and soul for life. I am just sorry that I had to leave but I am looking forward to the next step on my journey as a professional footballer.€ - Nathan Redmond, July 2013.
Having spent eleven years with Birmingham City, the 19 year old Nathan Redmond finally upped sticks and swapped the club for Norwich City in the summer of 2013, with the Blues languishing in the mire of the Championship. Of course, despite his best efforts, Redmond was unable to prevent Norwich from suffering the pain of relegation and is now pretty much back where he started. Such is the promise and potential of the England U21 winger that he has been tipped for a big-money move to Liverpool in the January transfer window, with a number of top Premier League sides said to be interested in his services. Redmond has played 121 games in the last three seasons - an impressive total for any 20 year old, and has represented his country at every youth level.
