Next up we have one of the iconic moments of the recent British & Irish Lions tour of Australia in 2013. With the Lions having already won the first test with Australia the second meeting had been proving a tight affair, with the Lions only ahead by 3 points coming into the final 20 minutes of the match. The Lions then manage to turn the ball over after some scrappy Australian passing and moved the ball out to George North on the wing, only for him to be quickly smothered by the man regarded as one of the best full-backs in the world, Australia’s Israel Folau.

Unfortunately for Izzy, the Welshman wasn’t going down without a fight. In an impressive display of strength North proceeded to pick Folau up onto his shoulder and carry him 5 metres before dumping him to the ground. Even though it was poor George was the one who ultimately came off the worst from the exchange, remaining down injured afterwards, it is surely one of the only times in rugby history where the player with the ball has evaded a tackle by tackling the defender back.
