4. Ireland Fan Reacts To Six Nations Finale

This one could very nearly have been a third example of why you shouldn’t celebrate too soon, but thankfully for the Irish fan involved, and indeed Irish fans everywhere, it didn’t turn out that way. This video shows an Irish fan reacting to the final moments of this year’s Six Nations tournament. With Ireland having beaten Scotland 40-10 earlier in the day they would win the trophy if England failed to win by 26 points or more in their final game against France.
With England winning by 20 points they were camped on the France try-line with no time left on the clock. In their desperation to score what would probably have been a tournament winning try the English forwards made the mistake of going of their feet at the ruck, giving France the penalty.
Ireland fans everywhere started to celebrate. France just needed to kick it out of play and Ireland would be champions. France however had other ideas.
With the French having nothing to lose themselves, winger Yoann Huget tapped the penalty and started trying to set up a French attack, much to the dismay of Ireland fans everywhere. The reaction of the fan in the above video embodies the reaction of Ireland supporters everywhere, as France come close to losing the ball on a number of occasions. Thankfully for Ireland fans, common sense eventually prevailed with the French scrum-half kicking the ball and Ireland ultimately claimed the 2015 Six Nations title.
