1. Roberto Soldado
Another new signing, another Spanish international, another impressive La Liga record from 2012-13 (24 goals in 35 for Valencia). But the new Tottenham striker has a number of striking assets that mark him out from Negredo and company. He has a consistently high goalscoring record over the past 4 seasons, with 59 goals in 101 league appearances for Valencia, and 16 from 26 in his final season with Getafe. He has 6 goals in 11 international appearances for Spain. He is 28 years old, and clearly at the prime of his career. He also won't have a squad rotation system at Tottenham like the one at Manchester City to limit his goalscoring. Again, England is a different kettle of fish to the La Liga, and whether he'll settle in as fast as Fernando Torres did 6 years previously is a key question he'll have to answer.
