The Brazilian left-back is a legend of the game, and is one of Brazil's most decorated international stars. The winner of Champions Leagues, World Cups, trophies in Brazil, Spain, and Turkey, Carlos was also a great scorer of goals, with one particular free-kick against France going down as one of history's greatest. His position may have been in defence, but his sheer insistence of going forward would scare the living daylights out of any defence he faced, and probably his own managers at times. He was runner-up in the FIFA World Player of The Year award for 1997. As far as the statistics go, Carlos' greatest achievements are at Real Madrid. On the way to three Champions League titles, four La Ligas, and eleven wonderful years at the club, he scored 66 times from his left-back position. Wherever he played he was a threat, but this was the period that sealed his status as a world beater. There are few greater left-backs in the history of the game, and he is now managing the Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.
