Anyone who is surprised to see Amanda Nunes in the number one spot hasn't been following mixed martial arts recently. In terms of the opponents she's beaten, Nunes easily has the most impressive résumé in women's MMA.

At press time, the 31-year-old Brazilian holds both the UFC Women's Bantamweight and Featherweight Championships and is the first female to hold titles in two weight classes. Over the course of her last 6 fights, she has beaten the likes of Valentina Shevchenko (twice), Miesha Tate, Ronda Rousey, and Cris Cyborg. She finished off all of the previously listed fighters, with the exception of Shevchenko, in the very first round. Nunes hasn't lost a fight since 2014, and her record currently stands at 17-4.

Moreover, the fact that she is co-main eventing the biggest card of the year this coming Saturday (UFC 239), suggests that she's finally starting to receive the level of notoriety a fighter of her caliber deserves. Should she get past Holly Holm at UFC 239, Amanda Nunes will have literally defeated half of the women on this list.
