Miesha Tate was a standout amateur wrestler who went on to have Hall of Fame-worthy MMA career.

Her rivalry with Ronda Rousey would become the first major feud between female fighters in UFC history. Known for her toughness and ability to come on strong late in fights, Tate became a fan favorite during her time in the UFC. She was also a well-rounded competitor who beat some of the best fighters of her era.

Over the course of a career that lasted from 2007 to 2016, Tate defeated the likes of Sara McMann, Liz Carmouche, and Jessica Eye. In 2011, she beat Marloes Coenen to capture the Strikeforce women's bantamweight strap. Her crowning achievement came back in March of 2016 when she submitted Holly Holm to capture the UFC Bantamweight Championship.

Miesha Tate didn't have Ronda Rousey's Olympic-level grappling skills or Holly Holm's world-class boxing. Her wins rarely came easy. However, with heart, determination, and above-average wrestling, she managed to become a two-time champ.
