10 Greatest Female Fighters In MMA History
4. Valentina Shevchenko
Bishkek's Valentina Shevchenko is an excellent example of the new generation of mixed martial artist who can do it all inside the Octagon. Though she's a Muay Thai specialist by trade, her ground game has also reached an elite-level. She can knock an opponent out, choke them out, or strategically outpoint them. In fact, she has done all of these things over the course of her last three contests.
Shevchenko is the current UFC Women's Flyweight Champion and holds victories over Joanna Jedrzejczyk (at flyweight), Holly Holm, and Julianna Pena. Perhaps almost impressive as any of her wins was her narrow split decision loss to current dual titleholder, Amanda Nunes, who has looked unstoppable as of late.
Still only 31 years of age, the reigning champ looks to continue to build on one of the most impressive résumés in women's MMA while representing the evolution of the modern mixed martial artist.
