Robin van Persie's final season with Arsenal also happened to be his best. The striker conjured his most menacing self ever seen, scoring 30 times in 38 games to pick up his first Golden Boot.

The ex-Gunners captain literally carried the entire team on his broad shoulders and helped secure Champions League finish.

His startling numbers include that famous hat-trick at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea, the double at Anfield and another hat-trick in the Blackburn Rovers battering.

Van Persie was miles ahead of everyone else in the side and not to mention he contributed further 14 assists to go with his already impressive numbers.

And while they may not helped Arsenal to silverware success, he landed a dream move to Manchester United that summer.
