10 Greatest Wimbledon Champions Of All Time

4. Boris Becker

Boris Becker makes this list almost solely due to his maiden Wimbledon men's singles triumph. Becker won his first Wimbledon title aged just 17 in 1985. This was and still is a truly remarkable achievement that could not have been predicted by anyone involved in the game. No player has come close to equalling this record since and it is unlikely that, in the age of powerful, strong tennis, that it will ever be reproduced. Becker went onto win a total of three men's singles titles at SW19, backing up his 1985 success by winning the following year and then again in 1989. Despite having achieved what most players can only dream of at such a young age, Becker never truly hit the heights that many thought he would. Nevertheless his achievement at the tender age of 17 cannot be underestimated and it was clearly no fluke as he added two further Wimbledon titles to his collection. Due to the extraordinary achievement for such a young man he earns a place in the upper echelons of Wimbledon greats.
