2. David Hirst - 114MPH
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9tV9evOCIs This one is a bit different from the rest of the list, because while it's an incredibly hard strike, it doesn't actually go in (also, I wasn't expecting to have two Sheffield Wednesday entries when I set out compiling this list...). Hirst enjoyed an impressive goalscoring record for Wednesday before injuries started to take their toll, which is around the time this effort came. Never has the phrase 'rattled the crossbar' been so literal.
