Peter Reid was one of Englands brightest midfield talents in his day, renowned for bone-crunching challenges, deft passing and ball control. The opposition would be touching cloth before a ball was kicked when they spotted Reidys name on the teamsheet. He treated the playing field like a war zone and always had the back of his fellow soldiers in the trenches. Reids fiery clashes with Liverpools Steve McMahon during Merseyside derbies have since been etched into footballing folklore. Joining the club from Bolton Wanderers in 1982, Reid is another member of the immensely successful Everton team of the mid-1980s, winning the FA Cup, Cup Winners Cup, and two league titles during his time at Goodison Park. He picked up a PFA Player of the Year gong in 1985 and was deservedly handed the Everton Giant' accolade in 2006.
