10 Hardest Men Who Ever Played For Everton

6. Mike Pejic

Better known for his time at Stoke City than Everton, Mike Pejic spent three seasons at Goodison Park between 1976 and 1979, back in the good old days when footballers were actually allowed to tackle one another. Wingers must have felt like they€™d been hit by an express train after being taken out by this steely left-back, who racked up an infamous collection of red cards during his career. Never one to pull out of a challenge, Pejic broke his leg on more than one occasion, but soldiered on until recurrent injuries caught up with him in 1980. He ended his career at Aston Villa, who could certainly use a no-nonsense bruiser like him right now. Although Pejic is now in his 60s, he remains the kind of guy you wouldn€™t want to mess around with. The former Everton man took up taekwondo several years ago and kicked enough arse to earn a place in the England nation team for over 60s.
