10 Hardest Men Who Ever Played For Everton

3. Johnny Morrissey

Luis Suarez would be scooping up his dislodged teeth with a broken arm if he tried any of that biting malarkey on Everton€™s demon of a right-winger Johnny Morrissey. Graduating with honours from the same school of hardknocks era that produced the likes of Norman €˜Bites Yer Legs€™ Hunter, Billy Bremner, and Johnny Giles, Morrissey featured for Everton between 1962 and 1972 after joining the club from arch-rivals Liverpool, sold without Reds boss Bill Shaklee€™s knowledge. Liverpool€™s loss was Everton€™s gain because the wide man terrorised every full back who marked him, usually leaving a mark or two on them. He scored 50 times in 314 appearances during his decade at Goodison and helped the club to a league title in his first season.
